Brothers Matteo and Salvatore hail from Calabria and opened their first Berberè pizzeria in 2010 (which was awarded ′Tre Spicchi′ by food guide Gambero Rosso in 2018). Their first outpost in Florence takes up a corner space in the quiet piazza de′ Nerli in San Frediano, with a recent addition opening its doors in bustling Santa Croce in 2018.

Berberè Pizza Florence focuses on artisanal pizza made with sourdough rested for at least 24 hours. Toppings are seasonal, with many organic. Each pizza is sliced into eight pieces to encourage sharing between friends. Berberè also has gluten-free options, all washed down with artisan beers.
